Ringgold County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,131,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/19/19159.html )〕 making it the second-least populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Mount Ayr.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 The county is named after Maj. Samuel Ringgold, a hero of the Battle of Palo Alto fought in May 1846, during the Mexican-American War.
